Nikon D5600 vs Canon 750D & Canon 760D Review – Best DSLR with a Flip Screen 2017

Hey whats up everyone, my names Chris Winter and in this video I’m going to go over some of the key differences and similarities between the brand new Nikon D5600 and the Canon T6i and Canon T6s so you can choose which camera will be best for you.

Battery Life

So let’s first take a look at the battery life between these two cameras. Now in my I found that I could get about 500-600 shots on the Canon T6i & Canon T6s, whereas on the Nikon D5600 I was generally getting around about 450-500. In video mode, I was getting pretty similar results. So both of cameras don’t have great battery, especially compared a camera like htis one here the Nikon D3400 which can get around 1200 shots, but they should perform ok for a day of shooting.

Focus Points

Now if you look on paper, one area where you might be slightly confused about which camera performs better is with their autofocus points. The Canon T6s has has focusing points with 19, compared to 39 on the Nikon D5600. But importantly, the Canon T6s has more cross type focus points with all 19, compared to just 9 on the Nikon D5600. Which performs better in real life. Well to me that both performed very well for entry level to mid level camera, but honestly the T6s was very good and to me with those 19 cross type points is the better focusing camera.

Next up I wanted to talk about autofocus specifically in live view mode. Now the T6i and T6s introcued a new autofocus system called Hybrid AF, which essnetisaly allows for greater Autofocus when using live view mode and in video mode. Now it’s not as good as Dual Pixel Autofocus that you’d find in the 70d and 80d but it’s very good. And it’s also much better than the Nikon D5600 offers, so if you do use live view mode alot, or want to use Autofoucs in video, the Canon T6i and Canon T6s will be better.

Slow Motion

Now both of these cameras can shoot in slowmotion at 60 frames per second, but importantly, the Nikon D5600 can shoot it at 1080p, where as the Canon T6i and Canon T6s still max out at 720p. Of course both cameras do shoot 1080p at low frame rates and in general they both look very good. Is it a huge difference, well if you don’t use slow motion a lot, it’s not going to be a big deal, but if you know you like to use it, the Nikon D5600 will be better for you.

Timelapse Mode

Now if you’re into vlogging or cinematography, one feature that you might like is timelapse mode, and this comes built into the new Nikon D5600. Rather than using an intervalometer to create a timelapse like you’d have to do on the Canon T6s, it’s much easier to do on the Nikon D5600. So if know that you want to take a lot timelapses, for something like vlogging, the Nikon D5600 will be the much easier choice.

Flip Screen

One of my favorite features on both of these cameras are the swivelling artuclaing screens. compared to some cameras, such as the Sony A6300, where you only get a partially swivelling screen, the Nikon D5600 and the Canon T6i and Canon T6s have a flip screen. These are great if you want to get shots from all different angles, up high, down low and also if you want to film yourself like I’m doing right now. There’s no real difference between the two, they work great and they both even allow you to flip in the screen to the back, so it’s safer when you travel.

Top LCD Screen

One feature that is in the Canon T6s and the not the Canon T6i or the Nikon D5600 is the top LCD Screen. This is often found in pro cameras and not beginner cameras and is a great little feature as it allows you to quickly see your settings without having to look though your viewfinder or on your lcd. So if that’s something you might interested in, the Canon T6s will be the right one for you.

Nikon D7500 Preview – 4k DSLR takes 2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back

You took what feature away???
The Nikon D7500 takes some amazing elements from one of my favorite cameras, the Nikon D500 and combines them with the D7200 to create a new, powerful DSLR for the masses with 4k video included. But unfortunately, Nikon destroyed a couple of big features along the way so check out this preview of the Nikon D7500 for the latest details.
Preorder the Nikon D7500
Nikon 16-80mm F2.8-4 VC:
With 4k video, high speed shooting, and new features, the Nikon D7500 is more like a mini Nikon D500. A 24mp sensor makes this a high power DSLR but removes features that used to put it above mirrorless camera like the Sony A6300 and Sony A6500
